You can see these happening mostly in our modern day African countries, and of course, other continents of the world, but especially with the black children, who are the future hope of this great country and the continent of Africa.

These children are exposed to so much hardship and desperation knowingly or unknowingly by their parents as a result of poverty and strive for better tomorrow. putting them through the risks of their lives at a tender age, exposing them to violence that create a bad future and insecurity as they become VICTIMS OF THE SOCIETY. Young girls may resolve to other means of getting money: prostitution mostly, which could lead to unwanted pregnancies and contacting of deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS.

Patience Jonathan wants presidents' wives roles included in the constitution

Our dear first lady is canvassing for the inclusion of roles of presidents’ wives in the constitution. According to her, the inclusion would enable First Ladies get retirement benefits along with their husbands when they leave office.

What she said yesterday after she was sworn-in as Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service
We the wives of political office holders, if our names are not in the constitution and our husbands retire with benefits, the Constitution amendment committee should also look into the issue of wives of political appointees. We should be included in the Constitution so that we too can retire with benefits. With that we can enjoy our career."
Enjoy their career? OK!

Tonto Dikeh Apologizes To Rita Dominic For Calling Her An "Old Cargo"

Few hours ago, we published a story with the headline‘Tonto Dikeh Calls Rita Dominic “Old Desperate Cargo”.This was wrongfully fed upon by some who saw the headline and thought Tonto is having a bitter fight with Rita Dominic as against a tweet believed to be directed at Ini Edo.

FULL STORY

Apparently not wanting a situation she would be pitched against Rita Dominic, Tonto quickly tweeted at Rita Dominic clearing the air at once.

She tweeted, “Ma, I’m terribly sorry for the rumours going on. I pray you understand the love and respect I have for you. I’ll never disrespect you; dead or alive.”

This apology by Tonto to Rita has taken many by surprise because of the believed ‘eccentric’ nature of the Tonto Dikeh. Some have insinuated that Tonto quickly apologised to Rita because Rita is also a no-nonsense person.

Is this a confirmation that ‘no matter how mad a dog might be or go, it would surely succumb to the orders of its owner’?

RAMADAN:Saudi Arabia Warns Non-Muslim Not To Eat In Public

Saudi authorities warned non-Muslim expatriates on Friday, the first day of Ramadan, not to eat, drink, or smoke in public until the end of the Muslim holy month's sunrise-to-sunset fast — or face expulsion.
The Interior Ministry of the oil-rich kingdom called on expatriates to "show consideration for feelings of Muslims" and "preserve the sacred Islamic rituals." Otherwise, a ministry statement said, Saudi authorities will cancel violators' work contracts and expel them.

Saudi Arabia's population of 27 million includes some 8 million expatriates, including Asians, Arabs, and Westerners, according to government figures.
The ultraconservative Sunni kingdom is the home of Islam's holiest sites. The warning — which is issued at the beginning of Ramadan every year — serve as a reminder that the Western-allied monarchy must answer to a strict religious establishment that holds de facto veto power over many of its policies.
With challenges to the established order growing bolder from a population nearly half of which is under 30, Saudi Arabia has recently made some moves to show moderation. It is sending female athletes to the Olympics for the first time this year. King Abdullah has promised to allow women to run and vote in municipal elections in 2015. He also has tried to rein in the country's feared morality police.
But Saudi rights advocate Waleed Aboul Khair believes that while such moves give impression that the grip of hardliners has eased, "when you look around, nothing has changed and suppression has not changed." He is facing trial for "tarnishing the kingdom's reputation," mostly by his political activism for women's rights and other issues.

Here is what they said about the picture:

‘Tiwa was held hostage by a fan after a show who insisted that the Kele kele love crooner signs her autograph on her b00bs’.

I think is more than that?

Tonto Dikeh Harasses Rita Dominic,Calls Her "Old Desperate Cargo"

Tonto Dikeh is one actress who knows she is controversial and does nothing to counter that notion.
As the future awards nominees have been released, Tonto Dikeh who is nominated in the "Actor of the year" category has thrown a jab at a fellow nominee who she calls” Nollywood Old Cargo”.

On her twitter handle this morning, she made references to the actress manipulating votes in the past which brings our mind to none other than award winning actress,Ini Edo.

In Nov 2011,Rita Dominic and Stella Dimoko of Encomium mag, accused Ini Edo of manipulating her online votes for the Arik Airline award category for best actress during the African International Film Festival.

Rita tweeted"Tweeting Rita said; “Ok, I have to announce this o! INI EDO who had 200 votes last night has eclipsed the first actress by 200 votes. JEZUXXXX”

Stella Dimoko replied this way: “If d oda contenders were cheatn, dey must hve don it with sense. Hw d hell am I suppose to kip quiet wen @ ini 4phil takes d cheating overboard?
These outcry resulted in the cancellation of the process.
So, do we need further evidence to prove that this tweet was aimed at Ini Edo? I just hope this doesn't escalate into a full blown banter

BLACK FRIDAY!! 30 Dead, 5 Injured In Fresh Tanker Explosion In Port Harcourt

At least thirty people have lost their lives while five others were rescued as more tankers exploded today at Abuloma waterside and Rumuokehi around Eneka area of Rivers state this morning.

The thirty people who were burnt to death and the five rescued alive were trapped in the vessel that caught fire at the Abuloma water front.

Our correspondent in Rivers says NEMA advance teams are moving to the Abuloma scene while fire fighters are battling that of Rumuokehi already.

Officials of NEMA's information department are asking for help from the fire service and multi-national companies around Abuloma for urgent assistance to battle that fire.

At Rumuokehi, a total of three tankers were seen still in flames while one had been successfully put out by men of the fire service.

A source said that the tankers were set ablaze by men of the JTF because they were being used by bunkerers.

Efforts are still being made to contact the JTF spokesman to get confirmation about their involvement.
However, FRSC's sector commander in Rivers state Kayode Olagunja said this about the Abuloma fire; "

An oil vessel, around 9:45am, caught fire and exploded at the Abuloma water front, Trans Amadi in Port Harcourt.

"Fire is still restricted to the water area. FRSC, NEMA, Police and other rescue agencies are on ground. Casualty figures are yet unknown."
