A*L*A*R*M:Group to declare Biafra republic in November.

A pro-Biafra group, Biafra Zionist Movement, BZM, announced, on Tuesday, that it had commenced the process to launch the struggle for a State of Biafra with the international community, saying that the formal declaration of the new Biafra Republic had been slated for November 5.

This came as Conference of Igbo Youth Organizations, CIYO, warned that Ndigbo “would no longer watch in silence while our brothers and sisters are slaughtered like animals” in the Northern States.

National President of BZM, Benjamin Onwuka, at a briefing said what prevented the realization of Biafra republic over the years was the inability to get the support of world powers, like the United States of America to back the project.

He expressed regrets that the international community did not know the aspirations of the Biafra people, saying “Biafra must therefore be internationalized because the forces preventing the dreams for our independence are vested in the United Kingdom.

Biafra can only be achieved when we secure the support of the United States of America; the day USA comes to our side, that day we shall be free from Nigeria; the story of South Sudan where a bloody civil war was fought for over 24 years is a typical example.”

Meanwhile, the Igbo youths in a statement endorsed by 10 youth leaders, including the National Coordinator, Igbo Youth Grand Alliance, Uchenna Uchehara, who read it after their emergency meeting in Owerri yesterday said: “Events of the past few months in Nigeria have become very disturbing to stakeholders, especially the Igbo nation that played a major role in the founding of Nigeria and inspite of the tragedies of the Biafran war, resolved to give total support to one united Nigeria”.

I can fish out subsidy ‘thieves’ in a week — Ribadu.

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, yesterday said it would take him just a week to fish out those indicted in the House of Representatives subsidy probe report if given the mandate by the Federal Government.

Ribadu stated this at an interactive session with the management and staff of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in Abuja.
He said all the regulatory failures in Nigeria were due to the bad and docile leadership.

He blamed subsidy scam on the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPRA) for releasing fund it could not account for.

Ribadu also called on the Federal Government to reform the Nigeria Police Force to enable it to tackle corruption and insecurity in the country.

He said that the police, as an institution, had been weakened and needed to reform in order to confront the challenges of corruption and insecurity.

“We have destroyed and weakened an institution that is constitutionally assigned the responsibility to enforce law and order internally in this country,’’ Ribadu said, noting that military personnel discharged internal security duties contrary to the provisions in the constitution.

Ribadu, who is the Chairman, Special Task Force on Petroleum Revenue, urged the Federal Government to train and retrain the police to enable them to tackle corruption and insecurity in the country.

Meet Emmanuel Adebayor's Girlfriend,Yvonne Okoro

News about Ghanaian born Nigerian actress, Yvonne Okoro being romantically linked with top Togolese footballer, Emmanuel Seyi Adebayor is not going away soon. We gathered the two are romantically linked, despite denials from both sides.

It would be recalled that in 2011, pregnancy rumour trailed Yvonne when it was reported that she was pregnant for the Manchester City player, who was on loan to Tottenham Hotspurs football club during the 2011/2012 EPL season.

Though the rumour may have refused to die down, but the latest gossip is that the 12 million naira worth Mercedes Benz C Class facelift edition in Yvonne’s garage was bought by the Nigerian-Togolese footballer, Seyi Adebayor.

Yvonne has not denied knowing or having anything to do with Adebayor, but has reportedly said that Adebayor is just a friend. She was reportedly quoted to have said,
Quote
”I know Adebayor but he's just a friend, he's not my man. I've my own guy and I can tell you that Adebayor is not my man."

My Husband Always Compare Me To His Mistress

A 38-year-old woman, Mrs. Abiodun Onadipe, on Tuesday pleaded with an Agege Customary Court to dissolve her 14-year-old marriage on the grounds that her husband was irresponsible.

The mother of three, who sells cosmetics, accused her 42-year-old husband, Mr. Tajudeen Onadipe, of neglect and infidelity.

Abiodun said, “The problem began seven years ago when my husband began an affair with another woman, who is a divorcee. I suffered psychologically because my husband frequently made comparison between me and his lover who bore two children for him.

“My husband insults me at will even to the point of calling me a witch and threatens to beat me.”

Tajudeen, who lives at Akute in Ogun State, made no effort to refute the allegations levelled against him.

He accused his wife of impatience, engaging in unnecessary arguments and insulting him at the slightest provocation.

The President of the Court, Mr. Emmanuel Sokunle, advised the couple to be patient and sort things out.

But Onadipe refused, insisting that her mind was made up. The case was adjourned till August 6.
