The conference is also open to veteran journalists, seasoned broadcasters, governmental & diplomatic officials, academics & scholars, artists, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives and young professionals as well as other interested individuals from across the world.

Opportunity, Training, Development and Competition
Students will attend seminars before the end of the conference and will receive training in News writing, Editorial Cartooning, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Sport Writing, Headline Writing, Photojournalism, Investigative Journalism and Radio Broadcasting & Script Writing.
Moreover, the conference promises to give participants, especially those interested in doing their IT or taking internship jobs in zenith press outfits in Nigeria and beyond, the opportunity to build close rapport with media practitioners and top bosses of companies and industries. Furthermore, certificate of participation would be given to all participants; apart from that, packages will be handed over to attendees at the end of the event.

Feeding and Accommodation

The Local Organizing Committee has agreed to serve all attendees three times daily with breakfast (morning), Snacks/Tea (Tea Break session), and slap-up dinner (evening). For accommodation, however, preparation has been made to ensure that all participants are lodged inside the university campus. Maximum security network has been put in place to safeguard the lives and properties of our guests. Since the campus is an environment where movement during the middle of the night is seen as normal and usual, all participants would have a platform to mix and mingle with other delegates from different school at the end of the event each day before going to bed later in the night.
Unfortunately, the university community will not be able to accommodate more than 468 guests. We are presently planning on how to get conducive lodges for all our guests during this event. Since the school will be in session, we won’t be accommodating any of our participants in the school Halls of residence. Instead, we are fine-tuning strategies at ensuring that all participants remain comfortable with their accommodation. In any case, hotels and guest houses or any other convenient lodges outside the campus will be our last resort.

Coverage
There is no doubt that this event would be mentioned and reported on internationally respected television stations like Cable News Network (CNN), British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Al jazeera, and CCTV. The event will be reported and covered by virtually all national and local television/radio stations in Nigeria such as AIT, Channels Television, MiTV, DBN, Silverbird, NTA, OSRC, OSBC, BCOS, Lagos TV, Splash fm, Oluyole fm, Top fm among several others. Virtually all Newspapers/Magazines in Nigeria will also cover the event while online magazines, news sites, social network sites, Blogs etc. will be busy as traffic on such sites would go up the notch.

Registration
In order to have a well organized conference, applications will preferably be accepted from groups, departments and associations. Registration for the conference will be done online via the conference website www.icjc.com while the registration fee for the conference will be paid into the conference bank account. Applications will close on September 14th, 2012.
In order to get wider participation of delegates for this unprecedented conference, the registration fee has been set at a very low rate as this event is not for money-making but for building unity between and among young professionals of like minds. The registration fee has been fixed for #3, 500 per person and this will cover the aforementioned spending and provisions.
Prospective participants can also register offline but this will require them to submit their details to the Officer-in-Charge of ICJC in their school or the President/Leader of their association or group. The maximum number of delegates we can take from each school is sixty.
